Like Staffing World 2014, Jobscience is Driven by Relationships, Innovation, Education … And a Bit of Fun

Jeremy Market Trends, Staffing

Staffing World is coming up on Oct. 13 through 15, 2014 and it’s time to prepare for the conference. Jobscience – at booth #323 – has a complete guide to Staffing World. Here are some other important things to know about the conference. Put on by the American Staffing Association, it is the largest conference specific to the staffing, recruiting and workforce solutions industry, according to the ASA website. Here are a few things to know before you go:

  • Continuing education hours are available. Going to Staffing World will increase your knowledge about the industry – and the hottest topics in staffing and recruiting right now. Attending can also help you demonstrate what you learned through earning continuing education hours from keynote sessions, collaborative learning sessions, immersion programs and workshops. In total, Staffing World attendance can qualify you for up to 12.5 of the 30 total continuing education hours you need to renew your ASA certification.
  • Prepare for networking. At Staffing World, you will meet industry leaders from all over the country. Chances are good you’ll know a few, whether personally, through working together or social media. Reconnecting and refreshing business relationships is a good use of the time allotted at the conference for breaks, meals and receptions. These are also excellent times to network. Bring your best social skills and plenty of business cards, because Staffing World brings people together who are good to have as professional contacts.
  • Know what you most want to learn. Staffing World offers sessions of many kinds on almost any topic in staffing and recruiting you can imagine. If you go in without a plan, you may be overwhelmed. For this reason, you should make a point of visiting the website in advance and checking out the session schedule. There are sessions on health care staffing, industrial staffing, search and placement, the impact of the Affordable Care Act on staffing and more. There are also sessions on personal development and business topics. Since you can’t be everywhere at once, make sure you pick what is most important to you in advance.
  • Enjoy Washington! Staffing World 2014 will take place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, which is located on the Maryland side of the Potomac River. As such, you’ll be very close to Washington. Make sure you get the most out of the destination by looking for what interests you. Whether it’s the Smithsonian and zoos or restaurants and entertainment, you can probably find it. Check out the Washington travel website to see what you can do.
